Our Mission

The Hispanic Serving Initiative Committee aims to highlight the unique demographic and cultural qualities of students at the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center (McAllen) campus. Students at the McAllen campus are largely of Hispanic heritage, many of whom share unique cultural characteristics and are first-generation college students who are in need of additional resources to successfully complete their desired degree programs. Over 90% of students on our campus qualify for the Aggie Assurance program to promote affordability and encourage enrollment in higher education in the Rio Grande Valley.
